Alternaleaf: From newcomers to leading medical cannabis clinic in under three years

Alternaleaf went from being the new kids on the block to the UK’s leading medical cannabis clinic in less than three years.

Our key objective was to position Alternaleaf as “the adults in the room” in an industry often met with scepticism. Through a combination of press, social media, and data-led campaigns, we built credibility and awareness in a crowded market. By highlighting Alternaleaf’s clinical expertise, patient-first approach, and specialism in areas such as chronic pain and women’s health, we helped the UK newcomer stand out from its competitors.

From the start, we worked closely with the clinical and marketing teams to put real people at the centre of campaigns. Patient stories showcased the transformative impact of medical cannabis, creating authentic connections with prospective patients while navigating strict advertising and media regulations. These stories boosted coverage by 450%, landing Alternaleaf in prominent sites such as the BBC, ITV, and The Telegraph, as well as through a viral video series that explored the real lives behind the numbers.

Research was another cornerstone of our approach. We sourced and analysed credible data into compelling stories to illustrate the changing perceptions of the treatment in the UK, and to capture evolving attitudes among NHS doctors and the police. Our research-driven campaigns have sparked debate in Westminster, featured in nationwide billboard campaigns, and been widely covered across healthcare and medical media.
